Legal notice and protection of personal data
Dear customers, we would like to inform you in detail about the processing of your personal data in connection with the processing of your inquiry by Kaufland's consumer service, in accordance with Article 13 of EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Kaufland Hrvatska k.d., with its registered office at Donje Svetice 14 in Zagreb, is the controller within the meaning of Article 4 (7) GDPR.

The personal data you provide us when filling out the contact form, by phone or by e-mail are treated confidentially. We use your data exclusively for the purpose of responding to your inquiry. The legal basis for the processing of your personal data is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Kaufland’s legitimate interest in processing your personal data arises from Kaufland’s interest in responding to your inquiry and thus maintaining and promoting customer satisfaction.
The transfer of personal data to third parties outside the Kaufland Group is generally excluded. Exceptionally, data is processed on our behalf by processors. These are carefully selected and monitored by Kaufland and are bound by contract in accordance with Art. 28 GDPR.
In addition, it may be necessary to forward parts of your inquiry to a contractual partner (e.g., a supplier for specific inquiries about certain products) in order for us to process your request. In these cases, however, the request will be anonymized beforehand so that the third party cannot link the data to a specific person. If in individual cases your personal data needs to be disclosed, we will inform you beforehand and obtain your consent.
All personal data that you send us as part of an inquiry (suggestion, praise, or criticism) will be deleted or securely anonymized no later than 365 days after the last response. The reason for the 365-day deadline is that, after receiving a response, you as a customer may contact us again about the same issue, and in that case, we need to be able to refer to the previous correspondence. Experience has shown that after 365 days, we generally do not receive any further questions about our responses.
According to the GDPR, you as a data subject whose personal data is processed also have the following rights:
Pursuant to Article 15(1) GDPR, you have the right to request information, free of charge, on the personal data stored about you at Kaufland. If the statutory requirements are met, you also have the right to rectification (Article 16 GDPR), erasure (Article 17 GDPR) and restriction of processing (Article 18 GDPR) of your personal data.
If the processing of personal data is based on Article 6(1)(e) or (f) GDPR, you have a right to object under Article 21 GDPR.
If you object to the processing of personal data, your data will no longer be processed thereafter, unless Kaufland can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests of the data subject in the objection.
If you have provided the processed data yourself, you have the right to transfer the data to another controller under Article 20 GDPR.
If the data processing is carried out on the basis of consent granted under Article 6(1)(a) or Article 9(2)(a) GDPR, you may withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future without affecting the lawfulness of the previous processing.
